It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Safai had made a blocking bet. Checking is obv the most +EV play on the river if you’re playing fundamental poker, but I wonder if durrr would have read the 1/3 blocking bet and have shoved anyway.

@Izaak247 it would have to work a whole lot to be mathematically profitable. It probably isn’t on its own but this is how tom dwan gets paid on his big hands. So its good for metagame and profitable longterm.

  • 14 January 20125:19 pm Izaak247

    Is this bluff mathematically profitable?

  • 14 January 20125:41 pm sicness4ooooo

Hahaha, Esfandiari said “Show the 4-7 of clubs kid”
If he knew how close he was to the truth :D:D:D

    2 of diamonds…that was scary

  • 14 January 20127:22 pm onta1988

Does anyone think that bet/fold would have been a better line for Safai to take on the river? I know that few if any weaker hands call, but it protects him from being exploited by missed draws given that he is sitting across from one of the most aggressive and tricky players in the world.

  • 14 January 20128:20 pm foxygenwon

@Fedzization you are right. You gonna call a over 100 thousand dollar bet with only one pair. For $20 its easy to call but that big? Are you saying that is not Durrr’s money he is betting?

  • 14 January 20129:10 pm BadBoriBoy

@TheBurningBeast : I agree with Moon. Top pair is not a hand at all, especially when there are 2 strts out there. Did you ever stop & think that a player could have had a pocket pair to make a set, or were on a flush draw & made 2 pair. You left a really stupid & ignorant comment. It was a great fold by Safai & an even better bet by Dwan.

  • 14 January 20129:21 pm masterd000

    HERRRR DURRR!

  • 14 January 20129:51 pm VxTran

  • 14 January 201210:38 pm schlaepferAA

@ManiX89 fki n noob u have no idea what u talkin about
thats why the world will never hear of a dumb fk fish like u

  • 14 January 201211:00 pm klu501

@TheBurningBeast let’s see, he would lose to 53, 5Q, Q10, 23, 25, 2Q, 2-10, 10-5, 10-3, 333, 555, 10-10-10, QQQ, 222, as well as AA and KK, so there really was no reason to call such a huge overbet. Not getting the right price…

    Bob: (snickers) 150thousand.
    dwan: Im all in.
    Bob: (What the FXXX!)

  • 15 January 20121:05 am MocniSkopac

@TheBurningBeast ever heard of pot odds? also, safai knows dwan is capable of firing all in with the nuts. also, dwan provided no time tells he’s weak. he was acting like he is thinking how much to bet the nutz, can maybe safai call him with TPTK
