those commenting that card counting can no longer beat the casinos, thats great to hear that, just meens your one less player i have to bump into to get good position buying into a penetrated deck..truth be told,6-8 deck shoes can still be beaten any day of the week by a good counter, you just have to pick the right games..it does require a good consistent basic strategy, if casinos wanted to change the rules to such a point as to make it completely unwinnable, they could, fortunately they havent..

if that is a ten under there than that would add up(or subtract down, lol) if you were counting cards to -1 which i think means you have a better chance of getting a low card

Once again, you assume the dealers down card is a 10. Wrong. The dealers up card is an 8. You have a 16, which is still a winable hand. The odds of you busting are less on a 16 if you hit. The odds are greater of you losing if you stand. That’s why you hit, since the up card is a “winning” card. Meaning there are greater odds of the dealer getting a “pat” hand than busting. It’s impossible to bust an 8 up card.
