Amazing reads WSOP
The way they filmed and aired the final table was TERRIBLE. Who the fuck would watch two guys play heads up uninterrupted for over 6 hours?!

@jonmaxwell74 a lot of these players are sponsored pros, meaning a percentage of money is put in to certain tournaments for them. the amount can vary depending on the sponsor and how well the player is running in tournaments
The skill in poker is the ability to minimize your dependence on luck.

i heard a stat that in order to win the WSOP you need to win about 150 races. chew on that.
Skill over time. I agree in one tournament like the main event, nobody no matter how well they play can guarantee an outcome, because in a lineup that deep, any guy at that final table has won a few coin flips along the way. But over the long run, the guy that plays mathematically correct poker and maintains discipline will win. But the problem is that so many people are excellent holdem players today, it’s much more difficult. There are other games to master though.
@jonmaxwell74 A guy like Tom Dwan, he’ll take on an amateur who will put up the money and lay the guy 2 to 1 against him, on the game. Yet he still comes up on top. I mean seriously, go to the library and take out Super System or Daniel Negraneau’s poker book, read about the mathematics of the game and how many things one is taking into account and then tell me it’s just luck. And why would anyone back someone if it’s just chance? Who lends to a gambler over and over? It’s skill.
do you know how many tourneys these guys enter? do you know how much money these guys borrow, and have available to borrow? do you know when they play big, they have many backers taking fractions of their outcomes? Of course thats not printed. on teh all time winning money list it just lists gross tourney winings, that is the most skewed stat, like, in the history of all stats. i know many people that really lose all the time, but they keep in action cause they keep borrowing, getting backed, etc
@jonmaxwell74 they do so, all these guys like Negraneau, Hellmuth, Ivey, etc. they are way, way ,way up in cash over their career. You will have big swings on a given day, but over time, skill will result in net results with proper bankroll management. Thats the key is to roll with the luck, you wanna shove all your money in when you’re a favourite, be cautious when it’s a coin flip, and not be afraid to give the pot away when there’s a good chance you’re a dog. No way is it luck.
@Izaak247 on your mom’s face.
@dannymaclamp the pros dont consistently win you jack@ss. this is EXACTLY what i’m talking about… jack@sses like you buying into poker then ruining your lives. think about it.. you have a set, you protect all-in, some guy calls you with the nut flush draw, you are a 3-1 favorite. that means that statistically you will definitely lose 1 time in four tries. so on that final time, guess what– you’re busted. unless you have real idiots at the table, the luck factor determines the winner.
@jonmaxwell74 Sounds like some whiner who sucks at poker running his mouth. That’s such a dumb thing to say, because situations arrive involving chance it’s a sham? Lol. How do these pros consistently win if it’s all just luck. When there is a field of 7000 in a tournament, it’s more a matter of luck because to go all the way you need to roll the dice a few times.
I love Martin, heΒ΄s Czech !!
Where Ben lamb came?
@sale401348 career earnings of 5 million before going into wsop 2011. Amateur huh? hm.
notice how stupid poker is– AK vs 10-7 and the AK (at 62%) wins less than 2 out of 3 times. Poker is a sham that is not worth study.
but new millions of youths will continue to think so each year.
I would buy an 8.7 Million dollar car
damn he won 8Mio … i would be fainted
10 -7 vs A K !!!! wew
