you do realise that all of these pros make their money playing againts the rest of 98 proc. poker players in the world? they do not make money from playing these HS games, it’s just for fun, for show. it’s not like NFL players are playing againts random guys in the street all the time, like poker pros. Poker pros make money from big time fishes – like big time businessmen who want to have some fun.
@skaloon no point in your comment. hes playing in this “league” so he’s supposed to be as skilled as the other players in the same league. it’s like saying you can’t say any NFL player is bad because every single NFL player is a better football player than 98% of football players. cheers everyone knows that.

i love phil laak but after watching a lot of HSP i gotta say he is a pretty bad poker player. gets owned every single episode

Watching High Stakes Poker is like the ultimate training video for people who want to get better at big game cash tables. It just amazes me time and time again how well these pros can play, and even more so I’ve started to notice how some non-regulars to this all star table are so far behind in terms of overall poker ability. God bless these videos. And to think, I bought Lederer’s dvd on tells ten years ago thinking it was a good purchase. Fucking thief. Biggest waste ever.
