Raising 3 times in early position with aa is a donk play u either gotta limp or make a weird 2.2 times the blinds raise for a small chance of a repop.
i dont like your flop bets at all, i understand u play d`o`n format, that doesnt mean u just play abc, well, as long as it works out for you, maybe you should try little more creative play
The reason why I don’t like calling the AJo was that my chips are really valuable, and against an opponent like that, that will lead every flop, my best scenario is flopping a J with no Q or K up there, the Ace or a str8. since I will only hit 34% of the time, its not worth getting involved, especially with a player like that…even if you do have position. They will bet regardless of their position anyway.
Yea its definitely a situational thing, maybe leading for 1/2 pot is better against certain opponents, or going for a check raise. But even leading out fairly strong is sometimes a good play…strong means weak, and weak means strong…so some opponents will think thats exactly what you are trying to do.
its true that you need a decently high ITM% but even 85% is quite hard to accomplish, the game is 50-50. I say 75% is more reasonable. In the long run you still come out on top. Of course the higher stakes lower ITM% lower stakes higher ITM% @ $1 85% might be very reasonable @$20 85% might be impossible.
In the other guy’s AT hand, I like leading out there as well, but not pot/near pot because I (and I think you) would NEVER lead pot/near pot from the blinds in a limped pot as a bluff. Not that this particular opponent would ever be able to exploit it if he did have something like 88/77, but good opponents definitely could (by folding)
I don’t like the UTG AJo limp much either, I’d tend to raise or fold it, depending on the table and my image, game flow etc.
But, given that you did limp it, you got the best possible scenario. Everyone folded, and the maniac spewtard raised from the BB, and you have position PLUS what is very often the best hand. You should definitely call.
you need to have a winning % of 85 to even be concidered a decent double or nothing player
