i always miss the flop with ace king.

totally agree, mabee raising an oppenents bet would of been the best bet to see where you stand just as phil said. the odds of flopping quads like that are really slim, in my time its happend once with quad 2’s when i checked my blind once.

I doubt they had a 3 in the hole, probably a low-medium pocket pair, they wouldnt be calling your AK bet with nothin 🙂

nah, but the bet was half the size of the pot, and he called it out of position, even though I was the original raiser before the flop.

err, actually, i meant to say I would RAISE (not call). If I think thought they were bluffing, (which I do), I would not give them a free card and a chance to catch.

Im thinking no, but it depends on the specific situation.
With that flop, only a pocket pair, or a 3 can beat your hand (at the moment) so I most likely wouldve called a sizable bet. But it all depends on the players/betting patterns/bet amount/etc. Did they show cards at the end?

I made it 3 bets to go w/ AK, then got called by 2 players. The flop came 3 3 3 and I folded to a bet. Did I do the right thing?
