    “absolute gin card” lol this is such a bad card for Antonius’s hand vs Ivey’s turn value range

  • 23 January 20123:36 am ClaudioSanchezCC

    How the hell are people criticising phil ivey?! Antonious is in the big blind, he could have any two cards!
    Lets see you read him, the guys made of stone!

    loved his reaction when he hit the full house in the river!

  • 23 January 201212:20 pm sillybulanston

    @limonaadlimpa What hand would only call on the flop and turn that Ivey can’t beat? The only hand is A4. AA/QQ/AQ/A9 are all raising the flop because they’d be want to get value from straight and flush draws. Ivey is not folding here getting over 2:1 on a call when there’s only one realistic hand that beats him and Antonius is completely capable of bluffraising the river. Try playing against people who aren’t nits that only play the nuts.

    Ivey the over-glorified donkey gets owned again LOL

  • 23 January 20121:54 pm limonaadlimpa

    horribly played by phil ivey, call on the river…sigh what could he beat? only a flush, do that was bad.

  • 23 January 20122:04 pm kharashelzonah

    @ghs224 that depends on the flop and especially on the position. Good poker is not about winning many pots – just a few big ones. Here it would have been foolhardy for Ivey to go all in on the flop, with the lowest set and other big draws (straight, flush and straight flush). Ivey could have shoved on the turn: it was safe to assume that Antonius didn’t have a full house then; but even then, with three A’s it would have not been outlandish of Antonius to call. Unlucky hand for Ivey.

    @devildeal6t9 lol Ivey beats 3 aces… ivey doesn’t have 3 of a kind, he actually has a full house but the 4 on the river makes Antonious’s fullhouse bigger than Iveys.

    @ghs224 you’re 98% favorite and you go all-in post flop. guy folds, you win the blinds. Maximum profit achieved. Everyone’s a poker expert on youtube.

  • 23 January 20123:11 pm KirKanu

    @sonofmoe he could also beat a flush, which also could explain Patricks’ raise.

  • 23 January 20123:12 pm sonofmoe

    @devildeal6t9
    Ivey could beat 3 aces. He was hoping Antonius had three aces. But Antonius had aces over fours.
