it is still a good move because mathematically the chance getting a “monster hand” is so small that it will only destroy you in the short run. In the long run. It is profitable.

I do agree that position is one of the most important aspects of poker but this video demonstrates mathematically incorrect information.

Lots of the comments are right on when they say that you have to mix up your play to keep your opponents guessing–you don’t want them to be able to put you on a narrow range of ‘premium hands’. That’s the worst thing that can happen to you, because you will get outplayed all the time. . They will simply fold to your once-every-20-minute raise, or they will tear you up when a medium rag flop hits and they know you are stuck with one pair or AK, while they have a straight, trips or 2 pair.

So whats your point. you just sat there and talked about who did and didnt do what and at the end you say “he should have folded them”. Time wasted to prove nothing

Who would seriosly raise J10s under the gun? Its a limp worthy hand in later posistion at besst. A10 isnt an auto fold, it comes down to whos on ure table, if your on a tight table limping with A10 isnt a bad idea.

A T (o) is a much diffrent story to J 10 suited. That is because it is more likely to be dominated

That is because there is a 25% chance on a 10 player table that someone will have AJ AQ or AK.

so hes basically saying dont raise as someone could have a better hand than you
j10 suited is good for a limp under the gun
raising is stupid unless you’re trying to make yourself less predictable
but early in a tournament thats always a bad idea

Personally, in such a early position and time of the game raising under gun would be stupid either way. J10 suited is decent and I would limp into the flop but raising would be too bold.

    BLINDS ALWAYS HAVE ACES AHAHAHA

  • 14 December 20112:10 pm mccote

This vid was decent advice, but I’m not a fan of the “what if someone else has pocket Aces” logic. Using that logic, you can convince yourself into folding every hand. Not very useful to think that way.
I probably would have limped under the gun with the J10 suited… but then again I’m no expert.

    ak suited and aa,

possible hand winning is flush , straight, 3ks, and 4ks, 2pair cannot win because that mean there is 3 aces for the pockest, and full house the chances is slim because it have to have 2k outsid and another pair, cannot have ace.

  • 14 December 20113:15 pm 3wallacepistons

well, the only thing that’s wrong is that AK of clubs is better that AA because of your outs that u have to be committed to……AA can only have what…Pair of aces….3 of a kind…2 pair….but AK of clubs…man, u have a possible straight/flush, straight, two pair, 3 of a kind, full house, any of those…..giving u more opportunities to win that AA

  • 14 December 20113:30 pm BELAGAAL

The only bad thing about the A10o is lets say you come up against a tricky player and u raise it and he just calls with Ak or AQ and the flop is A 2 7? YOur going to lose quite alot of chips because ul think heck he didnt re raise so i prolly got this so my advice is unless u know ur opponent dont risk the A 10 in early position but whatever works for you brother 😀

Great video. I like to pop it with ATo in early position, but I keep the raise small to minimize my risk while still putting pressure on the blinds. Then if I get reraised I can just fold.
It seems to work for me. But you like to fold ATo, and that seems to work too. I just like to give a little action, and then outplay people. The more flops I see early on, the more chances I have to outplay people.
Good luck and thanks for the video.
