To those of you complaining about not seeing the cards… this is live. The Nevada Gaming Commision wouldn’t like people seeing the cards before the hand is over, might be a good place for people to cheat eh?
If you want to see the cards, wait for the produced programs later where they can show the cards during the hand.
Not showing the cards takes the emotional involvement out of watching the game. Now I’m not hoping or rooting for anything. I’ve become a passive viewer, and it is idiotic not to show the cards. What is the value? I don’t even want to watch.

It’s way better, than the normal format, where it was most of the time like this: “Ouhh… XXX is allin with Kings… YYY calls and flips over Aces… blablabla”… you saw very seldomly real poker hands, just the aforementioned bullshit. I can only support this format!
The new setup isn’t killing poker, it IS poker.

Now I love poker and reading other players is part of the game. Myself and the missus play live. we do have an advantage in that we can read one another really well.

@maxirierez109 Agreed… its part of the live game… If players want to hide their cards and avoid giving away tells they can always take up meditation or something. Whats next wearing an astronaut suit to hide all automotive responses?
Plus as Ben Lamb demonstrates NOT wearing sunglasses is really intimidating… and he’s perfectly prepared to make a raise and look directly at his opponents… As Esfandiari says its really bloody intimidating…
man whats with the bitching about the cards? watch the god danm game you don;’t need to see the full cards to have an idea of what the players have if you need full cards expose wait till espn blows it off, now shut the fuck up and keep sucking.
@maxirierez109 agreed, live or not … I doubt you, me or the man on the moon would be bothered if there was a 20 min delay to ensure hands were not notified to the players…
plus players should not be allowed to carry cell phones or ipads to the table….
This is all down to the stupid fiasco last year where they introduced the final table delayed with the ticker on ESPN stating the winner.
