The no talking rule is stupid. What happened to Deeb is why everyday people will say poker is all luck and not want to legalize it.

At 3:50, Daniel starts talking about his hand and is told he isnt allowed. Day two has a player on his cell phone texting during a LIVE televised WSOP event. I know you cant discuss your hand, but I dont see how a cell phone can fly under the radar if regulations dont allow INTERPLAYER communication of potential hands.

Daniel is mostly a passive player. He tries to make it to the river cheaply, and when that happens he usually isn’t the agressor but the one who ends up having to make a decision to either call or fold.

If you’re allowed to disclose your hand when considering a call on the river, that would give passive players an advantage over those who make the play.

To base that decision on your opponent’s reaction to you telling him your holecards seems pretty unethical to me.

Great work recording this, not seeing hole cards is so much more fun to watch

  • 16 December 20116:45 pm mprinosil

@Disastard but once u fold something like 82o and flop comes 888, if there is hand without showdown, you just shouldnt talk about having that 8, as its affect game for next hands

  • 16 December 20116:47 pm mprinosil

@Disastard u can say whatever about your hand, once u are in the pot. if u fold pre, for me, u r loosing that freedom. of course there are situations when u can show, lets say in push-fold, there is 3bet pre and 4bet push in front of you, so u fold and the 3betting guy calls, than u can impress table by saying you folded pocket jacks, cause it doesnt affect anything. or u win a hand by representing card, opponent folds, u can say whatever u want about your hand, as its part of poker to lie

  • 16 December 20117:15 pm Disastard

@mprinosil But couldn’t you argue that the intelligent player could set up pit falls for other players based on false information? Isn’t that a good portion of the strategy of a tournament? Just because I lied about my hand doesn’t mean I’m breaking the rules. And how is that different than bluffing then saying that I had it all along? Tying the mental aspects of the game in red tape just marginalizes the skill portion of a players arsenal.
